Adding a double vanity to your bathroom is a smart, quick way to add storage space. But are there any other benefits? We talked to Morgan Bishop, a designer at Model Remodel, to talk us through designing the perfect modern vanity.

The number one reason most people want a double vanity is to alleviate shared bathroom woes.

“A homeowner should start by considering their morning and evening routines in the bathroom,” says Bishop, “Is there more than one person in the bathroom getting ready at a time? If so, do they find the sink is a pinch point? If the answer to these questions is ‘yes,’ a double vanity is something they may consider.”

But do you have the space for a double vanity?

“We always want to make sure that the sinks are located far enough away from the wall so as not to bump an elbow when washing your face, brushing your teeth, etc.,” Bishop says. “It is also important that the sinks are separated far enough to allow each person to have their own “zone” if the users will be getting ready at the same time.”

Let’s take a look at some double-vanity bathroom ideas that will inspire you!
